Spring Lecture/Culture Share Series


Now Accepting Applications
The Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum are seeking proposals for the 2026 Spring Lecture/Culture Share Series. Presentations will be held February-April 2026. Speakers are invited to propose a 50-60 minute Zoom presentation in one of six categories:
- Talk on your art form, culture, or relevant topic.
- Storytelling–share a traditional story or several stories.
- Provide an art-making demonstration.
- Teach a dance/song or several dances and songs.
- Share a traditional Alaska Native recipe and give a cooking demonstration showing how to make the dish.
- Give a presentation on a topic connected to Alaska Native cultures or interests you have researched for higher education purposes, publications, professional interest, or work for tribes, villages or corporations. Presentations on sovereignty, boarding schools in Alaska, subsistence, language, TEK (traditional ecological knowledge), museum collections you have studied with Alaska Native material and artwork, etc. and more are welcome.
